thanks again, i think you nailed it.

the string i used was:

%band%\%_filename%

("_ext" would have just duped the existing extension)

and i used the preview function which shows you ahead of time how it
will be, which turned out to be accurate, except on one file which it
failed to do at all for some reason, (no idea why).

however, the string does what i want, which is to just create the
folder name from TPE2 and put the file in it; although technically
whats going on under the hood might be slightly different.  instead of
just moving the file to the new folder, i think it is doing the
"rename" or "copy and rename" function, only this time its renaming the
file to the same name it already had.  i'm not sure this is true, i'm
basically guessing based on observing it, but i don't think it matters
if its just a simple "move" function, or something a bit more complex;
but i thought i'd mention it.
