I've come across a similar problem as others here and have just resorted
to Custom Browse and created separate entries for Track Artists,
Composers, and Album Artists. It may not be ideal (especially on the
track artists front), but it works for me.
I've even gone as far (still working on it) as setting up Custom Browse
with genre specific menus to isolate "composer specific" music (like
Classical) from my more mainstream ("pop") music.
As far as Custom Browse goes, it works well for me in both my web
interface and SP interface, and it keeps things consistent.
