Best solution I've found is to treat the whole box as one work: 1. Name each cd the same, eg "Beethoven Symphonies (Gardiner)"
2. Leave the disc number tag as is, so you get Disc 1/3, 2/3 etc. 3. Set Squeezecenter to show multi-disc sets as 1 disc. Settings > My Music >Group Discs = "Treat multi-disc sets as a single album". This way you only see one disc/artwork for the whole set. 4. If you can, set your ripper (I use dbpoweramp) to automatically put the disc number before the track number for a multi-disc set. This keeps tracks in the 'right' order within a folder - handy for some UPnP servers, and folder browsing. Let me know if you want more details.
