This is my understanding as well, but I held back a couple days just in case someone had a trick I didn't know about. Possibilities for changing what's displayed on the SB Controller are especially limited.
I've never used Erland's Custom Browse plugin, but I know it can do amazing things. It may be worth a look. Just curious: why do you want them listed as "last, first" when browsing? I perfectly understand sorting by "last, first" and browsing/displaying by "first last", because that's how I always arranged my physical media (LPs, cassettes, CDs).
