Although I do understand your concerns, I think SBS is now closely matching other software, so it is more compatible in behaviour.
Most other software have exact equality on tag values. I've tried iTunes, Foobar and Mp3Tag, the three apps that I use daily. All of these do not strip trailing spaces from an artist tag, and differences in trailing spaces will be recognised as different artists, or songs not grouped on the same album. There will also be potentially hard to spot issues if two spaces are placed between words. eg. "Pink Floyd" != "Pink Floyd"; stripping leading/trailing spaces won't help here. NB. the only concern I might have is whether separator characters ignore whitespace. Is "ARTIST=XXX;YYY" the same as "ARTIST=XXX; YYY" or would the scanner detect an artist called " YYY"? It's not something I do (as I use two distinct tags, rather than separators) - I haven't tried it myself yet. _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
