I used to worry about this, but I gave up once I started buying odd albums here and there in digital format. A few of my favorite bands have gone to selling FLAC files of odd items I can't get elsewhere. I also decided to give up on the idea of the physical media with regard to my classical music that led to all my music. I can respect the physical media connections and even the connections to album sides, although I grew up without LP's. Heck, 99% of what I own, I purchase on CD. If given the choice I choose CD's. However, 95% of my listening is now through digital media players be it my Squeeze Box, Computer, or Personal Media Player (thank you FLAC), and as a result I find it easy to be a bit liberal with my tags... However, I don't completely abandon the connection to the disc be it my track numbering, comment fields, etc as artists do think in terms of the album or disc. Heck, my folders remain disc specific. I only regret that my non-squeezebox software can't seem to handle the DISC NUMBER tags by either ignoring them or misusing them. Eitherway, it can be a mess. -- emalvick ------------------------------------------------------------------------ emalvick's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35382 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91551 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
