I don't know about quick and user friendly, but here's what I'd do
(using Windows):
- Assume I'm starting with a file named "MyFlacFile.flac".
- Software needed: FLAC, and Exact Audio Copy. (and maybe Foobar2000
for tagging the .cue.)
- Convert from Flac to Wav. (Command line is "flac -d
MyFlacFile.flac".) Now have MyFlacFile.wav.
- Run EAC - go to Tools/ProcessWave - open MyFlacFile.wav
- Select and delete bits at beginning and end
- From the CueSheet menu select generate cue sheet, or create a blank
one and add cue points.
- Save the trimmed wav and then save the cue.
- EAC 1.0b3 seems to have a couple bugs. Open the .cue in notepad.
- First if the first line of the .cue is like FILE
"D:/folder/MyFlacFile.wav" WAVE, delete the folder info so it's
like FILE "MyFlacFile.wav" WAVE
- Second, there is a bug about generating cue sheets with INDEX 0
items - If you see "INDEX INDEX" in the .cue file, change them
to "INDEX".
- Foobar2000 can be used to set Artist and title information in the
cue.
