You can definitely use Mp3tag for flac files. I strongly disagree with
DJanGo on this. See also 'here'
(http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104752-Classical-music-tagging-in-LMS-7-9-looking-for-hints-suggestions-and-guidance&p=838396&viewfull=1#post838396).

I never tried adding lyrics to a file, but from what I read 'here'
(http://forums.mp3tag.de/index.php?showtopic=7637) or 'here'
(https://www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=110693) the tag
should be named LYRICS for flac files.

I'm not sure what's the best way for you, but if you want to have a
single tag displayed in Mp3tag that you can use for both mp3 and flac,
you can add a mapping in Mp3tag's options. For example, if you want to
use UNSYNCEDLYRICS generally, try adding a mapping with settings like
Tag=VorbisComment, Source=LYRICS, Target=UNSYNCEDLYRICS (where source is
the tag in the file, target is the tag name in Mp3tag).
