There are only really a few serious candidates for the book you're looking for. If you're relatively new to programming in general: Learning Perl (known as "the Llama book") Randal L. Schwartz and Tom Phoenix O'Reilly and Associates ....or if you're OK with general programming concepts: Programming Perl (known as "the Camel book") Larry Wall et. al. O'Reilly and Associates The latter of these, with Wall being the inventor of Perl, is the seminal work on the subject, and should be considered essential even if you begin your journey with the Llama. You may also find the Perl Cookbook (Tom Christansen and Nathan Torkington, O'Reilly and Associates) useful for web site work. None of the books specifically deal with RISC OS Perl, of course.
