If you are wanting to learn Perl itself I suggest Programming Perl ("the"
textbook.) It is also available as part of "The Perl Bookshop", a CD also
containing the very good "Perl Cookbook". All standard HTML which causes
Fresco no problems.

(Full contents:
Perl in a Nutshell, by Ellen Siever, Stephen Spainhour & Nathan Patwardhan
Programming Perl, 3rd Edition, by Larry Wall, Tom Christiansen & Jon Orwant
Advanced Perl Programming, by Sriram Srinivasan
Perl Cookbook, by Tom Christiansen and Nathan Torkington
Perl for System Administration, by David N. Blank-Edelman

plus a paperback version of the nutshell book.)

As an amateur I find the main difficulties with RO Perl being understanding
the effect and limitations of it being staticly linked and how to get eg
HLML-parser to work.
