Black Diamond FM (http://blackdiamondfm.com) in Midlothian has its news
satellite feed connected in the same way.

I have two ALSA configs stored and two shell scripts which invoke alsactl to
load those preset configs.  One has the Line-In muted, the other not. The
scripts are called 'on' and 'off'.

A macro cart executes the on/off switches at the required times as part of
the news-in and news-out sequences.

Assuming you're using ALSA (JACK will need another setup but the principle's
the same), look at the Rivendell Operations Guide for the RML commands
you'll need, and `man alsactl` to look at the load/store options to recreate
the same thing where you are
