Are you using Alsa or Jack? I use Alsa and I have found that after changing which output goes to which you have to say, close rdairplay and restart rdairplay before the changes take effect. I use a Delta 10/10 and then soundcard is soundcard 0 and to change the output, I use a different port 0 - 3 to choose different outputs.
