Thank you for the info. Now, could you please try the following: 1) Open up RDAdmin, click 'Manage Hosts', select the name of your system, click 'Edit' and then 'Audio Resources'. Scroll down a bit to the section marked 'Audio Adapters'. What do you see listed for the various cards? 2) Next, close RDAdmin, open up a root shell and do the following command: service rivendell restart 3) Repeat step #1. Do you see any changes in the list of audio adapters? Cheers! ------------------ Hi Fred, Ok this is interesting. After cold-booting the system this time (1 day later), the card is recognized. 1) I originally reported this piece of info under item #3 in my report: Audio Resources - Audio Adapters shows Card 0-7 as 'Not present' 2) Now the card is recogized under Audio Resources - Card 0, so the service restart is not necessary. Now every area of the application appears to be happy. Kinda frustrating, 'cause I've been VERY methodical with this (making no changes). Just to be sure, I've re-installed clean 2 more times, and the sound card is recognized each time now, so I don't have an explanation for it. I'm sorry. Before deciding to post to this list, I had done this several times to *make sure* non-functioning results were consistent. The only thing I can think of as a possible cause might be some artifacts somehow left over from the other distros, even though each time, I would tell the installation to remove existing partitions and use the entire disk. I'm sorry for the anomaly. Again, I've been very methodical about this, changing nothing, and just recording configuration information, so the inconsistent results are annoying. That aside, it seems to be fine now, which is great, since I'd rather use the Paravel distro. Thanks again for your time, efforts, and responsiveness! [email protected]
