I'm using Rivendell's built-in facility for sending Now/Next info over UDP. The UDP packets are being received by a Perl script I wrote, which uses IO::Socket to listen for and process the packets. No additional plug-ins or patches are involved; Rivendell was compiled from unmodified source using default options. If I'm not understanding the question, please let me know so I can get you the correct details.
