I too am gathering change from under the sofa cushions to get an M-Audio 
1010LT. Eight analog outputs means I can run individual RD modules on their own 
dedicated faders. Very necessary for me.

Budget considerations -- along with a compulsive streak to see if I can really 
get cheap-cr*p hardware to work -- is what keeps bringing me back to 
inexpensive soundcards on my test machine (like a six-channel Sabrent for $9). 

And although the comparative benchmark these days is indeed digital audio and 
the ASI card, I'm not far removed from the days of rust and vinyl, and find 
even the crummiest 16-bit soundcard still has better S/N and distortion specs 
than most cart & cassette decks and turntables I've ever used.
