If you're looking for a fairly high-end bit of kit you may want to look
at Axia's range of digital consoles. The Axia stuff ties into Rivendell
fairly nicely if memory serves, though I've not used them myself, being
typically budget-constrained..
On the more budget end of the scale, Henry Engineering do a nice little
broadcast-style mixer called the SixMix: http://www.henryeng.com/sixmix.html
Really depends on your expected inputs and so on, though - you may do
better with a little generic desk like a Soundcraft Folio/FX12. These
won't feature GPIOs for fader start etc like a proper broadcast desk
will, though.

Yes. Like the kind in a broadcast studio. I know you could use just a
mixer off the shelf to to do it, but I'm looking for something closer
to the broadcast end of things.
I've been in radio for about 20 years, and dabbled in the engineering
end of things here and there. I found Rivendell on a Google search,
when I decided to get more into the technical end of broadcasting, as
I am also an Amateur Radio operator.
I talked my fiance, who I met at a radio station, into doing a podcast
with me. My goal is to essentially build an Internet Radio station
with mine and perhaps other podcasts as the main programming, using
Rivendell as the play out system.

Hi Richie
Its great that your thinking of ways to use Rivendell. I use it to run
wedding Discos with, as well the 2 radio stations that I work for.
I've often thought it could be used in shopping malls for those radio
type public address system we always hear where ever we go.
When you say "Console" are you referring to a mixer console to adjust
levels etc on your program?
