If you're only going to play a cut once and never again have a look at day  
parting.  I guess you could put an expiry date on the cut and that would  
be that.  If you need to do a rotating play e.g. 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 etc then  
as far as I know this can't be done due to the way cuts are randomly  
selected (please correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure a few people would like  
to know this answer too).

Weights just add a bias to the random selection.  For example a cut with a  
weight of 10 should be randomly picked 10 times more often than a cut with  
a weight of 1
