Hi,

In my thinking it comes down to how you answer a few questions:

1. Are there any new features in the new version that you find
compelling, that you would like to have available? Is there anything in
the list of new features that you can see being used on a regular basis?

2. Are there any problems / bugs / issues that have been fixed which
you'd like to have fixed?

3. Are you replacing hardware which would necessitate an upgrade to a
newer or different build of Linux? (although I admit this one is more
of a stretch then the previous 2 questions, as you can usually compile
1.7.2 on the newer releases of Linux)

I've never been a huge fan of upgrading just for the sake of upgrading,
but that's me. To try and answer questions 1 or 2, the best option is
to review the changelog and NEWS files and set up a test machine with
the latest version of Rivendell to find those answers. From my own
perspective, some of the new features that I really like is the fact
that you can now filter using scheduler codes in add cart search box,
the Jack control RML stuff is nice, some of the enhancements to
RDCatch-while I havn't used them-I can see using them in the future.

Thanks,

Lorne Tyndale
