not sure that it is, but what you do is go into RDAdmin>Manage Hosts> 
Edit >your host, and in the middle are two boxes marked:

HTTP Xport - This should be set to wherever your audio is stored
Core Audio Enginge - (CAE) this is where you want the audio to play

On my system both of these point to my server which host mysql, exports 
/var/snd, and has the audio hardware. the production machine uses it's 
own audio hardware so CAE is set to localhost, but HTTP Xport still 
points to the server. I suppose in theory you could have HTTP Xport on 
one machine, and CAE on another, neither of which are on the host you 
are setting up.

For this to work I believe you must have Rivendell or some parts of it, 
which I am not sure, installed on the host that is hosting CAE. I have 
broadcast appliance installed on all of my machines. it has been working 
well for me.
