We solved the problem by creating a series of fill events which run from :58:00 to :59:55 each one 5 seconds shorter then the previous one
That's 35 events at the bottom of each hour each one set as a timed event to play next and every 5 seconds the next one is lined up and so on until previously playing item is finished. Took a while to set up but it performs like clockwork and once you have one hour set up it's easy to duplicate them. We use only on critical hours. The fills are either ' fade in timed out music like we did in the old days' or selections which actually are of the right duration, like the Flinstones theme. The fill pile just keeps growing. Works in our format.
