I think you need to use the game port or GPIO cards if you want dry hard wired contacts such as a button, directly.
Serial usually means using a broadcast console or switcher that also has a serial port and can send strings of data not just a dry contact to talk to RD. With serial in RD, you use a macro cart to tell it to set a serial trap waiting for the data that matches a user defined string to arrive via the serial port, and what action you want it to take once recieved. ----- Original Message ----- From: Lee Baker To: 'User discussion about the Rivendell Radio Automation System' Sent: Thursday, April 04, 2013 7:21 PM Subject: [RDD] Remote Start RDAirplay From Serial Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone could advise as to how to fire the next event in RDAirplay from a remote button via a serial port. How do I configure in RDadmin? A wiring diagram for the remote start button and serial connection would be most appreciated also. Thanks in advance, Lee ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Rivendell-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.rivendellaudio.org/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
