Serial usually means using a broadcast console or switcher that also has a
serial port and can send strings of data not just a dry contact to talk to
RD. With serial in RD, you use a macro cart to tell it to set a serial trap
waiting for the data that matches a user defined string to arrive via the
serial port, and what action you want it to take once recieved.

RDAirplay from a remote button via a serial port.

 

How do I configure in RDadmin?

 

A wiring diagram for the remote start button and serial connection would be
most appreciated also.
