I had same thoughts some time ago. But, I decided to set up studio
desktop to 1024x768 even if I have 1920x1080 screen.
Few reasons:
1. in case of display failure I can easily attach ANY display I have
2. in case of video board failure I can switch to any generic card
3. vnc works faster and it fits my laptop screen without scaling
4. smaller desktop = less resources
Just think about it ;-)
