I'm not sure if Suse is the same as Debian (in the way the Riv daemons
work) but under Debian, it expects /var/run/rivendell to be created and
owned by the user you run caed etc under. Some distros like to clear
out /var/run across reboots which can cause this.
It can also be as silly as not being able to connect to MySQL try
loading up rdadmin first it might hint at better errors in the syslog.
