Greetings from up the road at WBHM!

This helped me the other day when I was in a similar situation with OSXS and
Linux:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NFS_Troubleshooting

Are you using no_root_squash in /etc/exports and/or --manage-gids in
/etc/conf.d/nfs-server.conf?

You mentioned locking problems… have you set the "NEED_STATD" value in
/etc/conf.d/nfs-common.conf to YES?

Also, you said Debian Wheezy (7) is the NFS Client… What's your NFS server's
distribution? We recently had to migrate an older Ubuntu LTS server to Debian 7
due to incompatibilities between the two NFS versions, but YMMV.

Subject: Re: [RDD] CD ripping

Greetings,

Ok, I am confused here.
I can record using rdlibrary, so yes I can write to /var/snd.
BUT i can't import or rip files in rdlibrary.

Any ideas, I think I'm having a brain fart day.

Thanks
Tim

Greetings,

Well it seems that it is not a cd ripping problem, but a nfs problem.
the nfs share /var/snd is locked and it will not let su change permissions on
it.
Trying to figure out why this debian workstation is locking that shared folder.
When unmounted the lock on the folder is removed.

I know I have seen this before, but I can't remember what the problem is.

Please refresh my memory.

Tim

Greetings,

I have a new workstation setup on debian 7 and everything is fine except
when you try to rip in rdlibrary.
The CD tracks are read and showup, but when you press ripcd
your get
Rip Failed
The ripper encountered an error.
Please check your ripper configuration and try again.

I have check permissions, rduser is a member of the cdrom group.

ls -ag /dev/cdrom returns the following

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 3 Aug  1 09:48 /dev/cdrom -> sr0

Settings in rdadmin for rdlibrary are set for /dev/cdrom
I tried changing to /dev/sr0 and got same result.

any thoughts?

Cheers and Thanks
