To configure several sound cards in a given order :

$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-card-order.conf
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel,snd-ice1712

See http://alsa.opensrc.org/MultipleCards for details.

Check your alsa version if you're using a old distribution. This setting
has changed.
