I have no experience with Debian, but Rivendell coexists nicely with SELinux in full 'enforced' mode on CentOS once you've jumped through all the hoops with getting it set up. That said, Broadcast Appliance ships with it set to 'permissive' mode out of the box, mostly because radio automation is (should be?) mostly used in isolated, protected LAN environments and turning it on significantly complicate things like configuring file sharing with Windows systems.
