Got it...kind of...

I know this isn't the correct way, but it works...I am all ears if someone can tell me the "proper" way, or if their is an equivalent to gksudo...

Anyway, I opened the terminal, became root, and opened gedit, then edited the /etc/gdm/custom.conf file to disable the auto login, then rebooted.

All kinds of errors spit out on the terminal when I open gedit that way, but its the only way I know how to do it (for now).

Hi All,

I am trying to customize a new v2 appliance (set ssh port, valid users, tcpwrappers, etc), but the appliance logs right back in as the regular user as soon as I log out.

How can I either a) log in as root or b) edit config files with a gui editor? I am a windows convert, so no vi please!

I'm still learning linux (slllooowwwly), but the distro I use for my main machine has something called "gksudo"...is their an equivalent in Centos 6.4?

Thanks,

-Alan
