Hi,

>From the list below, the first thing I'd do is kill Pulseaudio. I've
run into more problems with it then it is worth. Even on machines that
I'm not running Rivendell / Jack, I still generally kill Pulseaudio and
go with either straight ALSA or Jack - ALSA.

Second, I'd use Liquidsoap to generate the stream. Out of the various
options it seems to be the most stable with the most capabilities. Yes,
it can be a PITA to set up. But once it is set up it just plain works.

I don't know if you've seen it, but Wave1049 has put up a good article
going through the various steps they've taken to get their stream
online. They're using Darkice instead of Liquidsoap (I've talked to a
lot of people who have stability issues with Darkice, thus I recommend
Liquidsoap over Darkice), but overall the article provides a good
overview of how to stream with Rivendell.

While the article isn't directly related to Rivendell, James Harrison
has put together a good article about streaming, well worth reading. He
also has posted some liquidsoap configuration file examples:

Hope this helps.
