If not the Main + Aux then perhaps put one of them (probably the actuality) on a hotkey button then have a macro command in the log simply "push the button". In either case they should simply play independently (as in on top of each other) as needed.

Could you use the main log and an aux log together to make this work?  Set
the two logs to play through the same output.
