Hi,
No idea really. I'm not using the appliance so I expect this sort of
thing to happen on occasion. I have an Ubuntu 14.04 server install with
a minimal LXDE GUI. I then installed from the Tryphon repos and
installed aman from source.
There is nothing in any logs that I can see, Riv logs that it sends the
ST commands but nothing shows up on the serial port (I monitor with
screen on the port, as previously mentioned if I don't use screen Riv
doesn't seem to configure/connect to the port at all).
If I run SY 0 & SZ 0, Rivendell will usually start sending the commands
through again (although sometimes it doesn't and I just run those
commands again).
Either way, I don't mind using bash scripts. Whatever works as far as
I'm concerned.
Please don't take this as a slight against Riv, its an awesome system
that I've been pimping to anyone who will listen to me for several years
now.

within 12 hours the serial connection will stop responding.
I don't understand.
The turn-key installation I did a while ago, after sorting out the
dip switches, has been running for..... 1 1/2 years or so.
How are you getting failures like that ? Bad hardware ?
