Thanks, Apparently I have more issues than that. I don’t have an /etc/rd.conf file. I see in the installation folder I had untarred is a link of rivendell to rivendell-suse. I probably messed up from the beginning. Maybe chose the wrong build to use? I don’t know.

Be sure: - You have MySQL server running somewhere - Edit /etc/rd.conf so that it points to that server - When launched, RDAdmin, first looks for /etc/rd.conf, then reads the address of SQL server. If it can find a valid Rivendell database it lets you log in, otherwise it will try to create for you (in that case it'll need MySQL root credentials).
