Boy do I feel dumb. When it asked for the mysql root name and password, I entered admin in the name instead of root. After entering root/mysqlpassword it created the database and now I have logged in.
Now to figure out the audio. My RDAlsaconfig menu brings up an error "invalid desktop entry *** Rivendell-rdalsaconfig-root.desktop" From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Wayne Merricks Sent: Wednesday, December 23, 2015 8:53 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [RDD] Raspberry Pi 2 install? rdadmin should prompt you for the root user name and password assuming mysql is actually running. No idea what you're installing it on but I'm assuming Raspbian which is as easy as: $ sudo apt-get install mysql-server Also double check /var/log/syslog to see if you're not getting caed moaning about pid files missing. You might need to create /var/run/rivendell and chown it to your_user:rivendell (depending on how raspbian does things this might be something that needs to happen on boot via init). The menu items are showing on the Pi desktop interface and when I select RDAdmin it says 'unable to access the Riv database' I have a feeling I need to set up the mysql database initially but I can't find any reference for that. Would anyone have any ideas to send my way? Thanks.
