Does your user belong to the group that has access to /dev/usbwhatever?

I’ve gotten to the point that Rivendell will run and most operates properly. However, two things… 1. When accessing Menu>Rivendell>Configuration>RDAlsaConfig a desktop error message comes up stating Invalid desktop entry file ‘/usr/local/share/applications/Rivendell-rdalsaconfig-root.desktop. I’m thinking it is a permissions problem but not sure. 2. Cannot set up an external USB audio box. When I do start the above rdalsaconfig as root, I can see the usb box and enable it. It then appears in the asound.conf file but not in the RDAdmin host setup file. Any clues?
