Michael, I compiled Rivendell 2.13.0 on raspian wheezy for the pi 2. The link is at http://jallencreative.com/rivendellpi/. Download the zipped version and extract it. You will need a 32 gig card. Just burn it to the card like a normal image. It has worked great for me. I haven't tried it on a pi 3, but someone else did and said it worked fine. There is plenty of space left on the card, so you wouldn't need a separate drive, expressly for testing. We used a hifiberry dac for audio, so you will need to set up the audio on the pi in Rivendell which is fairly simple. Let me know how it works out.
