Using the Appliance should I use network client on both machines making one the
server and the other one the studio or should the studio be setup with
standalone only to remove /var/snd and point it to look at the server? I also
have questions about the initial install process, it seems a lot of hard drive
is being wasted. I understand the RD's Home folder on the larger drive but the
system drive shows what appears to be 70 to 80 percent wasted space. If
interested, pics of what I see can be sent. I really want to get up and running
quickly but would prefer to do this right with a music server and a studio
setup as well. Still have to setup a icecast server which also leads me to
Glasscoder which I didn't see in Application choices during insatll unless it's
embedded in Rivendell. I know I seem as if I needed to be taken by the hand but
I am trying to understand without over thinking. I have a mild comfort level
with Linux Mint XFCE, based on information which is rock solid I'm sure has
lead me to believe after my mint setup I should have gone with the appliance
instead. My understanding of linux is minimal and as long as I can understand
what your getting at when explaining I'm good. I used RCS at one radio station
that I didn't have to setup, just use it in the control room. Everything was
done 3 floors down by IT guys. Help is greatly appreciated.
