we want to integrate Visual Radio here at the studio a bit more.
What we want to achieve:
- everytime a jingle is played, the corresponding video should be
triggered on our video server.
- when regular songs are played via rdairplay, we want to start the
corresponding music video as well.
How could this be achieved?
Is it possible to have a pre/post macro beeing called whenever an audio
cart is being played?
At the moment we are just using macro carts and the audio for the
jingles is used from the video server.
But that buries several problems: you cannot stop a started jingle, the
duration information is not available
and rivendell/rdairplay crashes after several macros when using a
duration on a macro cart.
Is there a place where we can get a realtime information which cart id
is played on what engine/machine?
Then we could create some helper program which then waits for play/stop
events and trigger the correct video/action.
Maybe someone has another idea.
Pre/Post macros for audio carts would be a cure to almost all of our
problems.
