Just wondering if any has any clever solutions for this before I spend too
much time trying to hack up a sub optimal solution.

I have a cron job that runs once a night with something like this being run
in the shell script that is invoked from it:

/usr/bin/rdlogmanager -g -s ONAIR -d 5

Sometimes the power is off in the night at the time the cron job should
run. Then later in the week, there is no log to chain to and we get silence.

So, I figure there must be a bunch of ways to deal with this automatically.
I am wondering if anyone has already come op with an elegant (and automatic
- as in non-human involved) solution to this problem.

all the best,

drew
