In any case, if you have not gone to production yet, try breaking the problem in two... Do an extra send from one of your 2.x boxes to the new server and see if that works. Do a send from your 3.x box to a known working server and see if that works. If you have to, set up a temporary server (perhaps even on a pi) to send to from 2.x and 3.x Are you sure the server is listening on the ip and port you are trying?
