Yes but...

Could this be a UTF-8 issue? Unless I misremember, Rivendell versions
befor 3.x don't fully support UTF-8. A client of mine who used to run
a Brazilian format on Rivendell had a lot of problems with
Portuguese-language song titles.
Correct. v2.x is basically limited the Latin character set. v3.x and
later has proper UTF-8 support.
Cheers!
Actually, the characters I'm using are still in the latin1 scope, only
french accented characters like "é" "è", etc.
Same database for all the machines, same Rivendell 2.19.3 for all of
them as well. On machine A, cart number XX will have its artist
correctly spelled "Giedré" and on machine B, it's displaying "Giedré".
Now if on machine B we try to correct the artist, manually changing the
field in RDLibrary, when listing the cart again, title shows "Giedr?".
I would loooove to use Rivendell v3 but some limitations (like
https://github.com/ElvishArtisan/rivendell/issues/459) prevent me from
having it in production yet.
So right now I'm thinking that the difference between machine A and
machine B (both running up-to-date Fedora 36, but on machine A Rivendell
was compiled quite some time ago, months before machine B) has something
to do with how Rivendell talks to MySQL, either directly with the
drivers or with Qt-MySQL... or something else, on which I wish I had
more control.
Hoggins!
