Hi,

I've been happily following the email discussions and the recent vote
here, but what's the status of the River codebase? There's some mostly
organizational work by Frank, but otherwise the svn tree is pretty
static.

Is the RTC/CTR policy still unclear, are we waiting for the AR1
release to go out as a baseline before attacking some of the open
issues, or are people just occupied doing other stuff?

The thought was to get the AR1 release out as a baseline first.
I believe we're closing in on this, assuming the "Handling Cryptography..."
issue doesn't throw a huge time lag into things (if it does, we should
adapt and talk about creating a separate branch to do some AR2 stuff).
The build and source is almost updated with the version and name
changes. We've got some work to do to finish the documentation in
the release.

I hope we can branch as soon as all expected modifications to the
codebase are done. I see no reason why we should wait for the procedures
to complete before letting code speak.
