Hi Peter, I was just about to sit down and back those changes out, but I see you've already done them all. So is there anything else I need to revert?
I'll raise the missing Javadoc Jira. No objections to using 2.1.2 rather than 2.2.0. Is there anything else that needs to be done in preparation for the release? Cheers, Tom -----Original Message----- From: Peter Firmstone [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 05 January 2010 21:36 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Apache River Release Hi Tom, A+ for initiative, thanks for the help, we do need to keep the references to Jini in the spec though, so you'll need to back out changes to the Jini spec. The public API for classdep is unchanged, the underlying implementation is totally different, it is now capable of discovering dependencies through annotations and generics but to a classdep user that's really only a bugfix. There's a new package, com.sun.jini.tools.classdepend which has a new API, which will eventually replace classdep, however this will be subject to change for now. I'll update classdep.html to reflect the changes. Can you raise the missing Java doc as an issue on Jira? This might be solved with a simple fix to the build script. I'm not sure the com.sun.* namespace should be included in the javadoc, perhaps we could generate it and include it in a separate javadoc directory, indicating that it's subject to change. Cheers, Peter.
