I checked out Rivet and it is really cool. I am going to test it out

Have a cool weekend outside the U.S. too!

I am going to be experimenting with gnucobol. They are looking for a web
interface or gui interface and tcl/tk is one of the top candidates for
that to happen. I am checking out how I can get data in and out of
gnucobol. I have ideas how to go about that. Gnucobol just has a screen
interface for now. I am interested in passing data in and out for
processing but for now would like to use rivet to do the forms instead
of the screen section in cobol.
I'd have to CRUD with html form wizard in rivet and then pass to the db
package/module in a tcl file. I could then transfer the data to/from
cobol when needed for processing in a step that is separate from form
submission and then form processing. It is that 'extra step' that is
required I need to figure out. Brian at gnucobol demonstrated in the

interesting problem, can you figure out how to solve it? Do you have some sort of server process running Cobol code perhaps talking through some communication channel with clients?

getting started forum how to pass the data back and forth between a tcl
script and cobol and even link variables, so most of the complicated
coding is done.

Thx. Harald for helping out with those few questions at google groups.

Take care,
jim
