I haven't managed to find any documentation for this integration. I was
looking at Apache's Tika github repo:

I see they describe a procedure for contributing through github in their
Readme.md file.
But I also see there are many pull requests in github. (I assume that
people just follow what they are used doing, and ignore non-standard
procedures. But for sure we can do the merging of pull requests...)

dropped the discussion but, given the strong support for the idea of moving to
git as our primary VCS, I propose we ask the infrastructure to provide
assistance to us in the process of having the main repository relocated to git
