I just joined your list, and I've got some problems with my computer.
I have Ubuntu Hardy Heron OS, and I think that I have accidentally had a
keylogger and some other root kits installed on it.
I downloaded three root kit hunters with synaptic package manager, but I'm a
Linux/Ubuntu newbie, and I cannot find
exactly WHERE they downloaded to.
Duhhhhh. I feel just stupid doing trying to do this!
Could you all please help me, I've only used Ubuntu since late August, before
that I used Windows since 2001, and MacIntosh for about 9 months, and then I
got a Linux machine pre-loaded with Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
Can you tell me HOW to find a root kit or a keylogger, with a rootkit finder?
These may seem like really kindergarten questions to you guys, but I really DO
want to learn!
Thanks for all of your help.
Jay
