You didn't say how the 1.3.8 version was installed. I suspect you now
have two versions of rkhunter on your system, and they are mixed up
(hence the 'invalid display' error). I would suggest you remove both
versions and start again (with version 1.4.0). To remove the 1.4.0
version you should be able to run './installer.sh --remove' from within
the installation directory.
