for windows (95/98/ME):

a. Do a find on hosts.sam, should be in C:\Windows and edit this file and 
save as C:\Windows\hosts without the .sam extension. This will act the same 
as an /etc/hosts file on unix.

b. If you know the format of a hosts file create a text file in this format 
and save it in C:\Windows and you have it. But hopefully you are running 
RL. :-)
