Just a couple of items from install of Gold code.
System is :
AMD K6-2 450 mhz, 128 megs sdram
Maxtor 5.4 gb hd
es1371 sound card
S3 Virge video w/8 megs ram (4 recogonized)
USR Sportster 33600 external /fax
HP 540 printer
On install, system defaults to 24 bpp when selecting monitor
(Optiquest 1769) After reboot on install, video had images jumping
in and out of screen. Like flashing images....
I went into control panel and adjusted video to 16/18 bpp and the
images stabalized and video was OK. However, I lost my mouse
and had to do a Ctrl+Alt+Bckspce to reboot the system. Upon boot up
the mouse was still inoperable. I then reloaded the software taking
care to select the 16/18 video setting and all worked as designed.
The system see's my sound card, however, there is no sound and I get
an error message "sound server - fatal error, cpuoverload, aborting"
I tried to run a backtrace, but it wouldn't run from kde.
I plan on installing Opera a lttle later, and am going to use the
tarball. But, I have a question. In that I didn't get the devtools
cd, will I run into problems with the tarball for the QT dev libs???
