Thanks for the help.  Since the ati.2 card is for the All-in-Wonder 
combo video/tv cards from ati I don't think it would work for me.  I am 
using the Nvidia server for my TNT2.  I compiled the new 2.4.17 kernel 
and made these changes to the modules.conf:

# i2c
alias char-major-89    i2c-dev
options i2c-core         i2cdebug=1
options i2c-algo-bit    bit_test=1

#bttv
alias char-major-81    videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
options bttv                card=63 tuner=2
options tuner              type=2 debug=1

The tv sound is now working but no video.  Any idea on what could still 
be wrong?
