Hi All,
In the last hour or so I have begun to install SuSE Linux on an Acer Extensa 367D lap top. The computer has 2.02 Gb Hd and 80Mb ram.

I am using YaST2 as the installation program. in step 2, I choose the "Default with Office" package, in step 3 (Detailed Software Window) I selected - under the Catagories list - GNOME which indicated I would have about 260 Mb of free disk space upon completion of installation.

LiLo is set to use the MBR of /dev/hda. I have a Root, a Swap, and a / partition on my disk. I followed the Personalize Software screen instructions and set a Root password and confirmed the installation data and began installation of the software packages. The first CD installation was complete and (successful?) and I was prompted to insert CD #2.

Now my computer is in a freeze at the installation of gmailwat, the GNOME mail package. The install progress bar is showing about 63% completion.

Does anyone have an idea of how to recover? There is no sound nor vibration from either the HD or the CD-ROM. A watch face is stationary on screen, I cannot move it, the arrow keys are useless, the Back and Next buttons are grayed out and the Abort Installation appears active but unaccessable.

Can I "pull the plug" and restart? LiLo is in fact on the HD, does that mean I can boot to Linux?
How do I continue the installation if I am able to resart the computer?

Thanks, Richard
